Will a break reminder interrupt meetings or focused work?

Short answer: It can, and that is why most people want a softer kind. In the SparklingTreat Desk Break Survey of US desk workers, the reminders people found acceptable were a soft prompt on their computer or phone (49%), a visual cue that doesn't interrupt (35%), and a reminder that comes only after a long stretch of sitting (33%). Only 15% wanted no reminders at all. 20% of all respondents said notifications are one reason break tools are hard to stick with.

What a respectful reminder looks like

  • It waits during meetings, presentations and full-screen work.
  • It appears after a long stretch, not on a fixed clock.
  • It can be postponed or skipped in one click.
  • It offers something ready to start, so there is nothing to decide.

How SparklingTreat handles this

SparklingTreat waits while you present, are in full screen, are locked, or are using supported Focus settings, and one click puts a reset off. See how it works
